Registration Packet

Registration packets, including separately-purchased post-ride meal vouchers, will be distributed in-person at the registration desk at Christmas Hill Park between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM. Each rider must wear a Tierra Bella wristband for SAG services and admission to the rest stops. We will be holding early packet pickup events (details will be announced once finalized).

Ride Start

All routes start at Christmas Hill Park, Gilroy CA.

Parking for the longer rides will be in Christmas Hill Park on Miller Ave and parking for shorter rides will be in our lot on Uvas Parkway at 10th St. Please follow our parking volunteers' instructions.

Meal Service

From 6:30am-10:30am, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, nut breads and bars will be available. At the finish line, lemonade, water, soda and frozen fruit bars. All of these are included in your registration fee.

We will have multiple food trucks from 12:00pm to 5:30pm with a variety of meal options (all with vegan options). Meal vouchers (15 dollars each) must be pre-purchased for the food trucks. Alternatively if you would prefer to eat on your own, you may also remove the included vouchers now and we will discount your registration fees accordingly.

You are welcome to pre-purchase additional vouchers for non-riding family/friends.

Conditioning Rides

We have organized a progressive series of conditioning rides to help you train for Tierra Bella Challenge routes. Up-to-date information is on the ACTC ride schedule; look for the 🚴‍♂️bicycle icon!

Please review ACTC ride guidelines and arrive with your helmet, water, snacks, weather-appropriate clothes, mechanical repair items and tools, and your bicycle in good mechanical condition. Conditioning rides are not SAG-supported.

Notice To Unpaid Riders

We will be actively screening for unpaid riders on the day of the ride. All riders must wear wrist bands.

If you aren't registered for the Tierra Bella, we ask that you choose a different route for this weekend and trust that you will understand.

Rules Of The Road

For an enjoyable day while riding the Tierra Bella, please use common sense and courtesy while you are on the road. To help ensure your safety and the safety of others:

Remember this is a tour, not a race or an endurance event. Please choose a route which matches your riding capabilities.

You must obey all rules governing vehicle traffic on public roads.

Class 1 and 3 e-bikes (pedal assist) are welcome on Tierra Bella.

California Vehicle Code rules will be enforced by local police and the CHP. You must:

  • Ride Single File On All Roads
  • Pass Only When It Is Safe
  • Stop At All Stop Signs
  • Control Your Speed On Descents
  • Ride Defensively
  • Share the road with cars

Other Things To Remember

It is the rider's responsibility to bring a bicycle in safe working condition. You should carry a water bottle, a spare inner tube and patch kit. It's also a good idea to bring a snack in case you are hungry before rest stops.

Always carry identification and an emergency telephone contact and phone number.

Minors under the age of 18 must ride with a responsible adult. All minors must carry the Medical Release Form signed by a parent or guardian (see application). Helmets are required by law for minors under the age of 18. ACTC club policy requires every rider, regardless of age, to wear an ANSI-approved helmet.

No alcoholic beverages are permitted.

Do not leave your bicycle unattended. ACTC is not responsible for lost or stolen property.

ACTC reserves the right to refuse participation to any rider not conforming to the rules listed.
